Blogging.
11.8.11
For those who know me rather well, or those know me for quite a long time, they would have known that I'm a rather frequent blogger. I have changed my URL at least 5 times but I doubt I'll ever change my URL again. I was a blogger since... I was in primary 5 I suppose. But back then I was blogging behind an online identity(and I'm not telling you why I was doing that). I think I started blogging since there was this craze with blogs back in primary school, along the way, many friends gave up blogging, but it has became a hobby of mine. Something I do almost everyday. So yup, I've spent around 4 years with many different blogs. I can confidently say, I have at least 2000 posts on my different blogs online. What exactly do I blog about? Actually it's just anything that comes to my mind, rants, heartfelt emotions, spamming of images and videos of my idols or just statements of 'I am bored X 10' My posts are really random and sometimes just spams to kill time but I do have a small group of people who would spam my phone, email, facebook(and anything else) if I stop posting for a while due to the hectic school schedule. No one really knows why but somehow they like reading my meaningless posts, so I do try to keep it as updated as often to spare myself the misery of being spammed. To me, blogging is a way I express myself. I'm not good with words, since my languages are my worst subjects. But still, I like blogging. It's when I let everything flow through my mind, I blog about anything under the sun as long as it's not offensive. Joining this competition doesn't make blogging any easier since, I'm trying very hard to not break out in too many smileys and be very careful I don't post anything too personal here. HAH. (plus I do have grammatical errors thank you.)
Blogging is also another way my friends who I rarely have the chance to talk too keep in touch with me. As my blog is regularly updated(except exam periods), they could know what I've been up to and stuff along that line. That's how I have ex-schoolmates and classmates that still know what I was up too despite not talking to me. I realised the importance of it ever since two of my very close friends(who are twins) went over to America to study. Since the time difference between America and Singapore is huge, we can rarely talk online, so that's how we keep in touch, reading each other blogs and emailing. My blog is probably one of the most personal thing I have. Although I don't post stuff like my address or phone numbers, but I do post about issues close to my heart. For example, my family. I would suppose, without my blog, many of my close friends wouldn't know me as well as they do today. To me, blogging is also a way I get to know more about myself. I am pretty sure, most of us, at least teenagers still have lots to figure out about ourselves. It's through my random blog posts that I start discovering more about myself. I would say, I think I had grown much more mature after I pen my thoughts down and do self-reflection at the same time. It's also a way I can keep track of my feelings, I do post about my feelings, when I get depressed or filled with so much joy, especially when you're upset, after blogging,I feel much better. I started blogging with the idea that I would keep my posts and one day, maybe ten years down the road, I could read my posts and laugh at how dumb my posts were. It could serve as way for me to figure out how much I grew. Blogging had also made me interested in blog-skinning, HTML encoding and I'm sure I learnt a lot about HTML. I used to create blogskins rather often and submit them online, getting a few Skin Of The Day(SOTD) before, but I sort or gave up on submitting them. Now I do more of editing of skins other people created to suit my style(of course I don't remove the credits). I did make quite a number of amendments to my current blogskin in my original blog. For this blogskin, I did lesser editing, mainly just changing the colours and adding of certain stuff. I do still come up with blogskins every now and then, just for fun or requests by some friends. Although writing a diary might seem like a better idea, I preferred blogging since I don't exactly like writing a lot. After all, I use my blog to share songs, videos and random articles too. So yup, blogging means a lot to me so I doubt I'll give up this habit anytime soon. Since this is an English competition, I won't post Chinese stuff(ok maybe some videos for entertainment). I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO CREATE A BLOG. ---- I'M A HAPPY GIRL DON'T WORRY ^^ 4:28 PM ♥ |
